Tomorrow is Our Chance...

Don't blow it.  If you ever needed to vote, tomorrow is the day.  We need to clean house and get rid of those who have put us into financial ruin by padding their own pockets and representing special interest groups over voters.

I received this message from Americans for Prosperity, and I share it here.  Do we need a president who bows to Muslim Kings?  Do we need to be lumped with terrorists when we gather for peaceful tea parties to express our feelings?  I guess even if you have a different viewpoint, you're assumed an enemy.  So become an ENEMY tomorrow, and let's get rid of the waste.  Hey...we can't do worse than we already have...can we?

Dear Ginger,
Can you believe that President Obama is actually using the word "enemies" to describe political opponents just before an election?

Our brave troops are fighting real "enemies" in Afghanastan and Iraq.  Terriorist "enemies" are constantly attempting to kill Americans on our home soil.

Yet, the President chooses to use the word "enemies" to describe fellow Americans opposing his agenda.

Does this outrage you?  It certianly infuriates me.

I still remember Speaker Pelosi calling us "un-American" in the USA Today for opposing the health care bill by holding tea parties, bus tours and turning out for town hall meetings to put pressure on members of Congress.

Harry Reid actually called us "evil-mongers" for daring to take on his liberal agenda.

Update on Class Action Suit

Ginger, Good news! A Federal court has ruled that most Americans have standing to challenge the Constitutionality of Obamacare. The District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan recently ruled that Americans who “reorganize their affairs,” and “forego certain spending today, so they will have the funds to pay for health insurance when the individual mandate takes effect in 2014,” have standing. This is most Americans. The Obama administration filed a notice in our lawsuit last week acknowledging the Michigan court’s ruling and its relevance to our case. However, their notice reemphasized their assertion that Congress has authority to enact Obamacare. Today we filed a response to that notice. Our response demonstrates, once again, that our lawsuit against Obamacare is unique. Rather than arguing that current precedent limits Congressional authority, we used this opportunity to reiterate and emphasize the argument that we have been making since the beginning: Current precedent leaves zero limitations on Congressional authority, and that violates the clear meaning of the Constitution. Obamacare is simply the latest in a long line of Federal legislation that increasingly intrudes upon personal rights. If the courts don’t overturn the flawed precedent currently in place, Obamacare will not be the end of these intrusions. That is why all Americans that want to reign in Congress should be part of this class action. Send out this link for others to JOIN THE OCA. The judge from the Eastern District of Tennessee now has all the briefs related to our motion for preliminary injunction and to the defendants’ motion to dismiss. If a separate hearing date is not set before the November 19th scheduling conference, we’d like to encourage everyone that can be present for the scheduling conference to be there. We will update you further as that date approaches. We are excited that a Federal judge now has the opportunity to make history. It only takes one brave judge to re-establish our Constitutional Republic by overturning Wickard v. Filburn. I "blogjacked" this from Wake Up America.  My healthcare monthly copay with my employer already doubled last year (Anthem).  Rising gas prices, grocery prices, rent????  How much does the government expect us to bear on stagnant salaries and retirement?  Well folks...here's part of that "change" Obama campaigned on. Obamacare Is The Reason For A 47 Percent Health Insurance Rate Hike By Anthem Posted: 16 Oct 2010 10:05 AM PDT "But we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy."-- Nancy Pelosi The state's largest insurer has been approved to raise health premium rates by 41 percent to 47 percent for some of its policies sold to individual buyers, in the largest price hikes yet seen in Connecticut since the adoption of national health care reform. For all of its individual market plans, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has received approval to raise rates by at least 19 percent -- including a range of 30 percent to 44 percent for the brand of plans in the individual market that was most popular in 2009, Century Preferred. The reason for the increases is the new federal health reform mandates, according to Anthem and the state Department of Insurance, which is defending its approval against charges by Attorney General Richard Blumenthal. Those reforms took effect Sept. 23. The very first comment after the article, says it all. So the "Affordable" Health Care Act is hurting affordability by up to 47%? Text, from the White House website itself: ......So Americans buying comparable coverage to what they have today -- I already said this -- would see premiums fall by 14 to 20 percent -- that’s not my numbers, that’s what the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office says -- for Americans who get their insurance through the workplace. How many people are getting insurance through their jobs right now? Raise your hands. All right. Well, a lot of those folks, your employer it’s estimated would see premiums fall by as much as 3,000 percent [sic], which means they could give you a raise. (Applause.)..... Connecticut is just latest in a long line of "learning what is in the bill after it passed" . Recent news shows that Colorado is raising rates in Colorado, ending sales of child-only policies and blaming their actions in part on the federal health reform law. (source) Michigan- Some health insurers in Southeast Michigan are beginning to charge higher premiums to employers who offer high-deductible employee health plans and then 'wrap' the plans by buying gap insurance or giving workers subsidies to cover the deductibles. NYT reported that major insurance companies have stopped offering new child-only policies because under Obamacare it would be unprofitable. WSJ: Health insurers say they plan to raise premiums for some Americans as a direct result of the health overhaul in coming weeks, complicating Democrats' efforts to trumpet their signature achievement before the midterm elections. The search engines are full of these articles and before people start screaming about those "nasty" insurance companies, businesses are not started with the goal of losing money and when laws are passed that that will cost a business their profits, those losses are always handed down to consumers. It is called Capitalism. Capitalism is an economic system in which the means of production are privately owned and operated for a private profit; decisions regarding supply, demand, price, distribution, and investments are made by private actors in the market rather than by central planning by the government; profit is distributed to owners who invest in businesses, and wages are paid to workers employed by businesses and companies. The icing on this Obamacare cake is that while insurance companies are raising premiums, Obamacare also requires by threat of fines that you, the consumer, pay those prices and mandate that everyone spend those extra dollars to buy insurance. Thank heavens a Florida judge has agreed to move forward with the lawsuits by 20 states arguing that mandate is not constitutional and that Congress does not have the right to force people to buy any product by virtue of simply being alive. Judge Vinson disagreed. “It is not based on an activity that they make the choice to undertake,” he wrote. “It is based solely on citizenship and on being alive.”

In a Perfect World...

Wouldn't it be great to turn on the TV and hear any U.S. president, Democrat or Republican, deliver the following speech?

'My Fellow Americans: As you all know, the defeat of the Iraq regime has been completed.

Since Congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete. This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces . This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now time to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short . The United Kingdom , Spain , Bulgaria , Australia , and Poland are some of the countries listed there.'



*NOTE FROM GINGER:  This list would have most certainly included Israel, as they have been our allies for years.  Our intrusion into their political issues with the Palestinians has truly demonstrated favoritism and delivered a very negative message to a nation we should be supporting.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war. Then, every year thereafter, the money will go into OUR social security system so it won't go broke in twenty years.

The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hell holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption.'

NOTE from Ginger:  I would like to ask Angelina Jolie why she choose to visit Pakistan after their flooding, yet totally ignored her own countryman in Tennessee when Nashville and other cities were devastated?  Don't we have children in our own country who needs homes?  And people who need a leg up? Charity begins at home...or so I've always heard.

Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York.

Mexico is also on List 2. Its president and his entire corrupt government really need an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple thousand extra tanks and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put 'em? Yep, border security.

We are tired of the one-way highway. Immediately, we'll be drilling for oil in Alaska -which will take care of this country's oil needs for decades to come. If you're an environmentalist who opposes this decision, I refer you to List 2 above: pick a country and move there.

It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens. Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them by saying, 'darn tootin.'

Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America . It is time to eliminate homelessness in America . To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thank you guys. We owe you and we won't forget.

To the nations on List 2, a final thought : You might want to learn to speak Arabic.

 Final NOTE from Ginger: In a perfect world, we might have a president who thinks like this.  Unfortunately, as I've said before, party lines continue to divide what could be a great country.  The day of needing Dem versus Rep has ended and we need to vote the PERSON not the PARTY.  As long as we have to choose a side, we'll never be able to come together as "one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."  

Tolerance

I'm usually a very tolerant person. I've tried to teach my children the same trait, and also instill in them that we are all created equal, but...there comes a time when tolerance isn't a virtue, more a task.

Why, of all the available land in the U.S. do the Muslims want to build a mosque at ground zero? No one is disputing their right to their religion, although I think we have bent over backwards for this one. We are just questioning the sense in establishing a mosque in the very place where the radical side of the religion caused the death of so many innocent people strictly because the Koran tells them to kill all who don't abide by the rules of their belief. I think this is the only religion that abdicates death as a punishment.  Do I agree they should be allowed to build at ground zero?  Hell NO!

This came in an email today, and I think this person (unknown to me) has the right idea. If we are going to be tolerant...then let's be tolerant to everyone.

I am appalled that so many of my friends are against the mosque near Ground Zero. We should allow it in order to promote tolerance.

I also propose that two gay nightclubs be opened next door to the mosque to promote tolerance in the mosque. We could call them "The Turban Cowboy" and "You Mecca Me Hot".

Next door should be a butcher shop that specializes in pork and have an open barbeque with pork ribs and across the street a very daring lingerie store called " Victoria Keeps Nothing Secret.” And next door in flashing lights open an Adult Toy Shop. I think for the purpose of tolerance we should build accordingly around the Mosque.
